Kamelot album shoot - Tommy and Alissa

Back in August I shot the artwork and promo photos for KAMELOT's new album, HAVEN.

In this post, I want to talk more about this shot I made of Tommy (Kamelot lead vocals) and Alissa (Kamelot backing and guest vocals and Arch Enemy lead vocals).
I'd had the image in my mind for a while and I couldn't be more excited when I saw it come to life on the day of the shoot.
Actually, this was the very last window of the photoshoot, which was set in Haarlem, the Netherlands, where the band was performing that same night.
I had the amazing Mieke with me, make-up artist extraordinaire for Tommy's make-up. Alissa applied her own make-up, because she knew exactly what she was going for.

When all band pictures were done, Tommy and Alissa were awesome enough to stay a little longer to get this shot done. I put my key light in the back, behind/next to them, illuminating Alissa's face and one side of Tommy's face, to make it look really mysterious, dark and edgy. Just to open it up a bit, I added a softbox on the other side, to brighten up some of the shadows and to separate Tommy from the background just a tiny little bit more.

I couldn't be more proud of the end result. I had to wait till now to release it, so I'm extremely relieved to finally share it with you guys!
